Module 11 / Search

Every module, one search box.

Live Part of Atlas

Search finds tasks, projects, docs, contracts, accounts, deals, and people across your Atlas workspace in one query. Your role and module permissions apply, so each person sees only what they are allowed to see. On paid plans, Ask Atlas answers questions from the same data.

What it does

Five capabilities, all permission-aware.

Search runs one query across the records in your Atlas workspace and applies the same role and module permissions as the rest of Atlas.

Taskswork items
Projectsplans
Docsknowledge base
Contractsagreements
CRMaccounts + deals
Peopleemployee records
Permissions apply at query time

The asker's role and module permissions apply exactly as they do in Atlas. If you cannot open a record, it does not show up in your results.

Ask for an answer

On paid plans, Ask Atlas answers questions with retrieval over your workspace, so answers are grounded in your own records and cite them.

Cross-module in one query

Tasks, projects, docs, contracts, accounts, deals, people, and engagements come back in one list. Filter by kind, or to your own items.

Semantic search and rerank

On paid plans, semantic search matches by meaning as well as keywords, and a rerank step puts the closest matches first.

Export and API

Export a result set as CSV, or run the same search over the REST API with a token that has the search:read scope. Permissions apply the same way.

How it works

Three passes, in series.

Every query goes through the same three steps.

PASS 01docstasksprojectsdealscontractspeoplecandidateskeyword+ meaningall modules

Match across modules

Your query runs across every record kind in the workspace. Keyword matching runs everywhere, and semantic matching joins it on paid plans.

PASS 02Rank · sampletaskdocdealprojdoctask

Filter and rank

Records you are not allowed to see are dropped, and the rest are ranked so the closest matches come first. Filter by kind or to your own items.

PASS 03Ask Atlas · sample answer"ENG-1280 is due Dec 10,nine days behind baseline.Runbook in Docs [doc].Owner is MK [task]."answered from your workspace

Ask in plain language

On paid plans, Ask Atlas answers from the same workspace data with retrieval over your records. Your content is not used to train models.

Key features

Nine more, all live.

Search is part of Atlas. AI features below are on paid plans.

Eight record kinds

Tasks, projects, docs, contracts, accounts, deals, employees, and engagements in one search.

Permissions at query time

Role and module permissions apply to every query, exactly as they do in the app.

Your items only

Limit results to your own items, or search the whole workspace you can see.

Semantic search

On paid plans, match records by meaning, not only exact words, with a rerank step.

Knowledge base search

Full-text search across every Docs page, in global search and inside Docs itself.

Filter by kind

Narrow to tasks, projects, docs, contracts, accounts, deals, people, or engagements.

Search API

Run the same search over REST with a token that has the search:read scope.

CSV export

Export a result set as CSV for a review, an audit request, or a handoff.

Data loss prevention

DLP policies are available on paid plans, alongside custom roles and audit logs.

Connected

Search reads across Atlas.

Records from the modules below show up in the same search, under the same permissions.

Atlas modules in one search

Tasks, Projects, Docs, Contracts, CRM, and HR records feed the same search. Meeting transcripts and PDFs have their own search inside Meetings and PDF Studio. Same query, same permissions.

Docs → pagesCRM → accounts, dealsProjects → plansTasks → work itemsHR → employee recordsContracts → agreements
API

Search over REST.

Run the same search from any backend. The token needs the search:read scope, and the token owner's role and module permissions apply.

search.sh
# Search the workspace as the token's owner. Their permissions apply.
curl "https://api-atlas.wrxstack.com/v1/unified-search?q=replica%20migration&limit=20" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer atlas_pat_..."

# Narrow to one kind (task, project, contract, account, deal,
# employee, wiki, engagement) and to your own items.
curl "https://api-atlas.wrxstack.com/v1/unified-search?q=renewal&kind=deal&mine=true" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer atlas_pat_..."

# Full-text search inside knowledge base pages only.

Comparison

Search vs. Glean.

Glean searches across the many apps a company already uses. Atlas Search covers the records inside Atlas, where your tasks, docs, CRM, and contracts already live.

FAQ

Common questions.

Six things people ask before relying on Search.

How are permissions enforced?

Search runs as the person asking. Their role and module permissions apply exactly as they do in Atlas, so a record they cannot open does not appear in their results, in the app or over the API.

What does Search cost?

Search is part of Atlas. AI features such as semantic search and Ask Atlas are on paid plans. Pricing is set inside the product.

What does Search cover?

Tasks, projects, knowledge base pages, contracts, CRM accounts and deals, employee records, and engagements. Meetings and PDFs have their own search inside those modules.

Can we use our own LLM?

Yes. Atlas supports bring-your-own-model and your own keys for its AI features. Private AI runs on Atlas servers, and your content is not used to train models.

What happens when nothing matches?

You get no results rather than a guess. Try a broader term, remove the kind filter, or ask the question in plain language with Ask Atlas on paid plans.

Does it search across all my company's apps at once?

Global search covers the records stored in Atlas. Data a connector such as Gmail or Google Drive brings into Atlas records becomes searchable, but Search does not crawl your other apps the way a standalone enterprise-search product does.

Honest limits

Who this is not for.

Search covers the records in your Atlas workspace. If you need one index over many outside systems, such as file shares, chat, and email across a whole company, a dedicated enterprise-search platform will fit better. Search is built to find work inside Atlas, for one team or a large enterprise.
